The buddhist ceremony seeks to pray for the victims so that they will be reborn in the Pure Land and for the survivors to be relieved of their sufferings and recover their good health. Praying together with ROman Catholic believers they are seeking to uplift brotherly morale and courage so that the world will be filled with peace and harmony in the spirit of kindness.
