Flood waters inundated a major intersection of road in the Zhujiangcun area of Guangzhou, in southern China, Saturday after nearly 24 hours of heavy rains fell across the area. Businesses in the immediate area, including the ICBC bank branch and China Unicom's main retail store in the area, were closed as flood waters rose high enough to enter the establishments.

Other businesses in the area were also closed due to the storms. One cargo truck was forced to be abandoned as it stalled while attempting to cross the flooded street. Pedestrians unwilling to trek to safer areas waded through the flood covered intersection as others looked on.
