Flood in Southern Pakistan

Unprecedented floods have affected some 21 million in Pakistan, the United Nations say. About seven million people have been affected alone in southern Sindh province where the Indus falls into sea and which has burst its banks creating giant lakes of mud colored water, destroying homes and farmland. The government says that the death toll in the flooding is around 2,000 people, but might rise when water recedes and people return to their villages. The United Nations has launched 465 million dollars emergency international appeal to protect the flood survivors from hunger and disease.
