Maputo's Public Transport

Maputo has a population of around 1,100,000 inhabitants. A city saturated with road transport and pollution where most residents do not have the opportunity to own a car and uses public transportation to get around the capital.

Public transport in Maputo is stocked with state buses, taxis driven by companies or individuals and small plates called taxi vans. Any sort of transport in the capital is so busy that barely any more people can get in, in fact, each user tries to make its place pulling their body until they can squeeze inside.

In the plates, known collector who always gets the last push comes to download and distribute to users and thus try to enter as many passengers as possible even if for a "western" stops back had run out of space. This overcrowding is most evident, as little has 12 seats in the back and 2 more on the front, but they can fill up to 30 people. My record was 27 adults and several children.
The price for travel in the capital round plates of 5 to 7.5 Mozambican Metical (0.16 €) but can reach three times the price depending on the remoteness of the destination.
The plates come fugonetas of the vast majority of Japanese exports, even many of them still have signs written in the language and Nippon.

I decided to document this spectacle in the busiest stops in the city.
A place where one learns to break down barriers in terms of space and eliminate any embarrassment.
