Over one hundred members of Muslims Against the Crusades, led by Anjem Choudary gathered on Duke of Wellington Place to protest against the Pope as he traveled through Wellington Arch to a vigil in Hyde Park. London, United Kingdom, 18/09/2010.
As the Pope passed by the demonstration he was looking the other way and so missed it entirely. The protesters were extremely loud chanting, singing and talking over there speaker system.
Thousands of people were out to watch the Pope pass by on his way to Hyde Park and were not happy with the crowd of fundamental Muslims demonstrating.
Near the beginning 2 people were arrested for shouting abuse and approaching the MAC protest. It was thought that they were part of the English Defence League and despite rumours of the EDL turning up en masse it amounted to nothing.
The protesters were escorted to Victoria underground station by police after the protest.
