Cammell Laird took 2 points from league leaders Chorley in a controversial match at Kirklands. Chorley took a 1st half lead when Tom Ince scored. Lairds equalised right on full-time with a McGill goal. Birkenhead, UK. 09/10/2010
Cammell Laird skipper Lee Atherton saw red in a controversial Evo-Stik league game at Kirklands.
Atherton was dismissed following a late tackle on Chorley winger Jack Dorney. On his way off the field of play Atherton jumped the perimater fence to confront jeering Chorley supporters. The enraged Atherton was eventually led away by stewards.
Chorley took the lead at half-time when Tom Ince ignored the linesman's flag to fire home. Chorley appeared to be cruising to another victory when the referee awarded a last minute penalty to Lairds.
Aaron Grundy saved the resulting penalty only for McGill to bundle home the re-bound to gain his side a point.
