While tourist season is up and running, the beach resort of eastern North Korea, just outside of Wonsan, is still quiet. Few locals enter the foreigners' section, while the fishermen are on the other side of the fence. Wonsan, North Korea. 15/09/2010
The quiet coastal town of Wonsan is just that - quiet. Despite high tourist season, the umbrellas stand still. Foreigners have their own section of beach (SongDoWon - see photo) even though the few locals enjoy themselves in a pick-up volleyball game. In the distance, the jumping docks have young citizens diving while fishermen line the docks around the clock to catch their day's catch.
