The Little Mermaid returns to Copenhagen from the Expo2010 in Shanghai

The Little Mermaid has returned safely to the waterfront in the port of Copenhagen after her successful journey to the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China. After a welcome ceremony with speeches by the Danish Minister for Economic and Business Affairs. Mr. Brian Mikkelsen, the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Mr. Frank Jensen, and the Chinese Ambassador to Denmark H.E. Mr. Xie Hangsheng, the Little Mermaid was lifted back to her usual spot at Langelinie in the port of Copenhagen.

The Little Mermaid was the main attraction in the Danish Pavillion at the Expo 2010 attracting more than 5,5 million visitors and winning a bronze award for its cutting edge architecture. The Little Mermaid left Shanghai immediately after the EXPO finished and was flown back to Copenhagen after having spent nearly eight months in Shanghai.
