Bangladesh Dawn-to-dusk strike enforced by BNP

The dawn-to-dusk countrywide strike, enforced by the main opposition BNP, is going on with a few stray incidents of violence. The police have blocked the ways around BNP headquarters at Naya Paltan in the Dhaka city; police arrested some 40 people including BNP central leaders.
Around the Dhaka city policemen were deployed to keep the traffic normal, though only some rickshaws, buses, private cars and auto rickshaws were on the road.
