Local officials burn down the rented home of George Jakubec, who was arrested in November when a gardner was injured on the property by an explosive device.

The "Bomb Factory" as it has been called is being burned in order to render the location safe due to the difficult nature of removing and containing the multiple chemicals found on the site. Jakubec is facing several charges having to do with the manufacturing of explosives at his home on Via Scott near Escondido as well as four bank robbery counts.

A federal judge denied the request yesterday to postpone the destruction of the home clearing the way for todays actions including shuting down Interstate I-15 for several hours
