Pieces of the Puzzle - Unification Day in Ukraine

Today, in Kyiv, Ukraine, people gathered in many venues to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of Ukraine Unity Day (Den Sobornosti) or the Day of Ukraine Unification of 1919. There were some protests, but the promised provocations and bloodshed never occurred. There was not much of a police presence at the events.

In Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) and on Khreshchatyk Street, people gathered and partied.

In Kontraktova Square, opposition forces gathered in a show of Unification for Ukraine. After some speeches, they put together a puzzle. A puzzle of the Oblasts of Ukraine. A puzzle of what will become of Ukraine.

In Sofiyska Square, Orthodox religious leaders and Yulia Timonchenko spoke about unity.
