Several windows smashed at the Indian High Commission in Central London as Tamil protest enters 21st day
Several windows were smashed at the Indian High Commission in central London today Monday as a group of about 200 Tamils gathered to protest the Indian governments role in the Sri Lankan civil war.
People in the crowd denied that their campaign had been behind the damage to India House. Several claimed that agent provocateurs had been paid. There was no independent verification.
A smaller group protested around the corner outside the consular entrance to the High Commission. Police said the consulate was closed today because of the violence. Later the Tamil protesters were to stage a sit down in the Strand. See http://www.demotix.com/news/tamils-protest-blocks-strand
