Dragons wind through the streets of New York City's Chinatown to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit in one of the city's most colorful and exciting parades marking the start of the Chinese New Year. New York City, USA. 06/02/2011
2011 is the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit. Through tiny streets in lower Manhattan, the parade winded from Mott St. to Eldridge St. This year, the parade and parade route were considerably smaller compared to year's past. This was probably due to the budget constraints of NYC and the city's mandate to shorten parade routes to save money on police and sanitation workers during this economic crisis. But despite all of these inconveniences, the Chinese community was able to put together one of the most exciting parades of the New Year.
