Millions of people marched in Italy to support the role of the woman in the social and political system. According to the World Economic Forum's latest global gender gap report, Italy ranked 74th out of 134 countries surveyed. The latest prostitution scandals involving Silvio Berlusconi and his sexist comments, caused millions of women to march in 200 cities around Italy and in other places in the world, such as Barcelona and Paris. In Bologna, around 25,000 people marched asking for "dignity" and respect for women, and protesting against sexism and violence.
