Buddhists in Thailand celebrated Māgha Pūjā today, the day when 1,250 disciples of the Lord Buddha spontaneously gathered to hear him teach the Ovadhapatikokha or monk’s discipline. At Wat Saket, popularly known as the temple of the golden mount, disciples thronged the main temple grounds bringing with them offerings of flowers, incense and candles, as they paid homage to the Lord Buddha, holy Dhamma and noble ariya Sangha.
