Wadi Nisnas, a mixed neighborhood of 8,000, is a picturesque maze of streets and alleys, old stone houses, an oriental market and artistic works that spill out into the streets and alleys. Haifa, Israel. 24/02/2011
Wadi Nisnas is a mixed neighborhood in Haifa with a population of about 8,000, established in the late 19th century as an Arab neighborhood and much of its original architecture has been preserved. It was dominantly Christian until 1948 but today the majority is Muslim. Wadi Nisnas serves as an example of coexistence between Jews, Muslims and Christians.
The Wadi, as it's often called, is a picturesque maze of streets and alleys, old stone houses, an oriental market and artistic works that spill out into the streets and alleys.
