Hundreds of right wing Jews paraded today on the streets of Jaffa, protesting what they say is an Islamic resurgence and threats against religious Jewish communities in the mixed city. Jaffa, Israel, 02/03/2011

Under heavy security which included helicopters, air-ships and thousands of police special forces and horsemen, nationalist Jews marched along Yefet street in the mixed population Israeli city of Jaffa, showting slogans such as "Jaffa is for Jews" and "Land of Yisrael to the people of Yisrael". Most promenent participants of the march were Knesset Member Michael Ben Ari, Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben Gevir of the "Land of Yisrael Shelamu" (Land of Israel is ours) party, all students of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane and former members of Kach movement

Approximatly a dozen Arab residents of the city and left-wing activists heckled the march as it went along, some making indecent jestures towards teenage girls who participated in the march. Overall only a few violent incidents were reported.
