The Geneva Motorshow opened yesterday in the heart of the Alps to celebrate its 81st birthday. Inspiring, Innovative and Passionately Expensive, this decade of automotive development has been defined. Geneva, Switzerland. 02/03/2011
The Geneva Auto Show, the 81st of its kind, has returned to Geneva with renewed vigour and vengeance since it’s 80th jubilee. With over 50 different car & part manufacturers, designers and a massage parlour for the weary and tired models and staff, you can buy an emissions free Moped for as little as 50M CHF/$, or zooped-up, custom designed Lamborghini for ~750M CHF/$.
If you like to go Dune-bugging on the Saharan planes, there’s an medical-kit inclusive Hummer-like Jeep (bright orange) which can respond to the most playful (or reckless) of drivers.
But if you prefer the classics, stop by the MORGAN podium and see what they used to drive in 1920… I mean, 2011.
All in all,
-7/10 for INSPIRATION (the independent designers have done more to stock cars they’ve bought from Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, etc than the actual manufacturers have)
-5/10 for CHANGING THE FOCUS of the AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY (Toyota continues to lead the way in environementally-protective technology, most of the other brands continue to be mega gas-guzzlers)
-8/10 for SERVICE & INFORMATION
