Bangladeshi people are celebrating their 40th Independence day. On March 26th in 1971, Bangladesh’s independence was formally declared by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The nine-month war which had been going on culminated in the independence of the country on December 16, 1971 after the sacrifice of the lives of three million people.
