Protesters supporting the Syrian government faced off against anti government protesters in downtown Montreal, one side denouncing the government's actions in Damascus and the other side quietly supporting the protesters in Syria.

Protesters lined both sides of de Maisonneuve boulevard near Guy street in downtown Montreal during rush hour, one side loudly supporting the Bashar government and the other side quietly supporting the protesters in Syria.

The protest comes on the heels of the government clashes with many Syrian protests happening overseas, which saw pro government forces breaking into a Mosque to attack anti government demonstrators.
