Demonstration against Daniel Ortega reelection blocked
A protest against Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega's regime was blocked by a heavy display of police forces, cadets, special forces and anti-riot police.
Today April 2nd, a Saturday in Managua City, Police forces prohibited the free movilization
and right of ptotest of the civil opposition to Daniel Ortegas Regimen.
The March already had police permission with an established rute headed twords the Supreme
Electoral counsil , their the civil march would express their unaproval of Daniel Ortegas
candidature to be elected president again wich violates two constitutional laws wich prohibits
Ortega to be reelected for the sixth time.
The manifestation was blocked by a heavy display of police forces, cadets, speacials forces and
anti riot police. This mass of police force prohibited the manifestation to pass for more than
500meters.
This action provoked manifastators that where able to break police lines twice that then
confronted the first commissioner Aminta Granera (Cheaf of Nicaraguan police) wich her
actions only benefit Ortegas political party and their followers.
A journalist was arrested, his camera taken from him and all his pictures were earased by
police. A woman member of parliament was assaulted by police forces, other 5 where hurt and
at least two police officers where injured.
