Α Nationwide Bicycle protest Ride took place in Athens with participation of thousands bikers. Cycling community claims upgrade of public transportation, creation of cycle paths (cycleways) and pedestrian sidewalks.
Release of the bicycle community :
"Nationwide Bicycle protest Ride is the leading collective action of the cycling community that claims for granted: a decent quality of life in our cities, based on the change in how we perceive transportation
The use of bicycle in conjunction with public transport, may contribute to this. The current misuse of the car is proven catastrophic for both humans and the environment.
Therefore we are opposed to any policy that helps or maintains this abuse."
