Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign - Kiev

Representatives of the European Union, the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports, as well as national pop-stars held the opening ceremony of the art design "Monument to Humanity." The monument looks like tangle of arms symbolizes the crossroads of the Ukrainian unity against violence between relatives.

Symbolically made-up promoters during and after the ceremony handed out to passers-by a special sign of unity - crimson bracelets "Stay human". Wristbands will be a demonstration of non-violence to loved ones.

A monument to violence will open even in 5 more cities during the campign: Lviv, Simferopol, Odessa, Donetsk, Kharkiv. 500 000 purple bracelets will be distributed throughout Ukraine. The media campaign "Stay human" includes advertising, distribution of bracelets on the streets, brochures for victims of violence, awareness raising campaigns in different regions and online campaign.
The Campaign implemented a joint European Union project "Rights of women and children in Ukraine - communication components" and the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Mr. Flint Year, head of the EU project "The rights of women and children in Ukraine - communication components" explained: "Our main message - put on this bracelet and become a part of the campaign. We want to merge half a million people throughout the country under the slogan "Stay human". By joining us, you show respect for those you love and send a strong signal that there are other ways to resolve conflicts".
