The Ventura County Fire Department battled a brush fire that threatened homes in the Lynn Ranch area of Thousand Oaks, Ca. in the late evening on June 30th. The sound of fireworks (which are illegal in the county) was reported by witnesses before the fire. Mild winds and cool weather made it relatively easy to subdue the fire within a few hours. The fire was the second in two days where fireworks were a reasonable cause. The long Fourth of July weekend is just starting. No injuries were reported on scene, and no structures were damaged.
