Politicians, people, and performers, parade past the Scottish parliament to celebrate its opening by the Queen earlier in the day. Edinburgh, United Kingdom, 1st July, 2011.
Politicians, performers, and people from all walks of life took part in a parade to celebrate the opening of the fourth session of the Scottish Parliament by the Queen.
Members and guests enjoyed an al fresco lunch in the landscaped precincts of the Parliament in blazing summer sun.
A packed programme of music and song was presented in the Parliament itself, with the doors thrown open to the public.
