NO TAV continue their protest over a new railway link - Italy
NO TAV is a movement active in the Susa Valley against the construction of a new railway Turin-Lyon, planned by the European Union to link Lyon to Budapest and then up to the Ukrainian border. Chiomonte, Val di Susa, Italy. 3rd July 2011
Val di Susa, the siege.
On 3 of july 2011 no tav people annunce a big demonstration against the tav - 70000 people arrived from italy and europe. The aim was to siege the construction site in chiomonte, val di susa. 7 hours of battle in the woods. Riot police shoot tear gas continuously from about noon to 18, and at times, when agents expect new supplies of tear gas, they thrown large stones to the protesters that have caused some injuries.
They used hydrants and even a bulldozer to stop the notav people who respond launching rocks and defend themselves with barricades craft.
