Pakistani heroes return home from the Special Olympics with 56 medals
The Pakistan squad returns home with 56 medals after a successful run at the recently-concluded Special Olympics Summer Games 2011 in Athens, Greece. Islamabad, Pakistan. 5th July 2011
National heroes arrived 18, 55 and 12 in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore respectively in separate flights. Family and friends received these athletes at the airports.
According to details, 85 Pakistani athletes participated in the event and bagged 57 medals including 17 gold, 27 silver and 13 bronze.
Most successful athlete Adeel Ameer won three gold medals. He was declared the fastest special athlete in the world.
More than 7500 athletes from 180 countries participated in the event.
