Lawyer Prof. Dr. Edgar Weiler acting on behalf of Bishop Richard Williamson who was sentenced to pay a fine of 6,500 Euros for his holocaust denial, announced that he will appeal to a higher regional court. Ratisbon, Germany. 11th July 2011
The sentence against Bishop Richard Williamson (71) was pronounced today by judge Katrin Eisvogel.
But, as Richard Williamson made his statement for swedish TV, his lawyers, Prof. Dr.Edgar Weiler and Benjamin Weiler, argue "not guilty" because the holocaust denial is not condemnable in Sweden, even if the statement has been given in Germany. Bishop Williamson was absent. Due to a declaration of the Society of St. Pius X, he lives recusively, in a house of the Society in London.
