El 24 de mayo se realizó con motivo del primer año del Centro de desarrollo cultural de Moravia, el concierto de Chocquibtown, un grupo colombiano que canta Hip-hop mezclado ritmos del pacífico colombiano. On May 24th because of the first anniversary of the Center for cultural development of Moravia occurred an Concert of Chocquibtown, a Colombian music group that sings Hip hop mixed with local music from the pacific. The group ist conformed by three young people coming from Chocó (Choco is a Colombian province where most of the population are afrocolombians and have high poverty levels) that went to live to Bogotá and there found other musicians with whom hat sang troughout Colombia and Europe to their people, to their lands, to their forgotten people, to their race. Moravia ist a really poor comune in Medellin where people that were displaced of their lands come to live to. There they surely have found friends or relatives that might help them to build a little house, that maybe some day could be built of bricks. The population of Moravia don´t have much opportunitties neither educative or cultural. This afternoon while the concert occurred, boys and girls, young people, mothers and fathers with their kids, danced, smiled, felt their roots, felt like being home, again. The others, like me, enjoyed the music and of course of being like home. Because finally, no matter color, we are all colombians. Lets hope, this Cultural Center will celebrate more years full of culture and education with real impact in the people of Moravia.
