May 26th, 2009 the California Supreme Court handed down their decision that Prop 8, California's amendment to ban gay marriage, was a legal amendment to the CA Constitution and therefore upheld.
These pictures are just some of the thousands taken last night, as protests all across California were held.
Every single person here has a story, a personal struggle or triumph and I hope I've captured some of them.

Nice to see a journo covering the whole event and not a 'hit and run' job.
In my home town we often see news 'togs' arrive take a couple of pics and leave, then miss more than a couple of great news images.
Using deadlines as an excuse is in fact not an excuse.

Nicole, it's great you were there! I was expecting massive protests no matter Supreme Court's decision. It seems there will be many other similar protests, as there are some new campaigns pro marriage equality movement and The American Foundation for Equal Rights has filed a federal equal protection suit to overturn Prop 8 and marriage bans everywhere. Have your camera ready. :) I wish I was there for covering these events too.
