Thousands march to PM Netanyahu's residence demanding social justice, with a comprehensive change in government priorities. Israel. 30th July 2011.
At least 6,000 marched in Jerusalem tonight, joined by several thousand more at a rally near the PM's residence. Reports from Tel-Aviv state tens of thousands and many more marched around the country. Marchers chanted their demands for "social justice" and called on PM Netanyahu to resign.
Netanyahu is definitely feeling the pressure and considering concrete steps to ease the burden on the public including a reduction of fuel prices, electricity and taxes. Minister of Interior Eli Ishay proposed to cancel the Knesset summer break in light of the wave of protest sweeping the country. And the General Security Services have instructed to beef up the PM's personal security.
