The Bridgestone Eco-Rally, currently in the London area, is a traveling interactive display promoting low emission vehicles. 31 July 2011
On Sunday 31 July 2011, shortly after the ceremonial Queen's Lifeguard and Changing of the Guards, the Eco-Rally convoys have paraded past Buckingham Palace to join an eclectic mix of vehicles and mobility services on display along The Mall between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. The all-day sustainable travel show has been free to attend and has featured interactive displays for the whole family.
For their fifth anniversary the Eco-Rally has culminated on The Mall at 'Start' London. Passionate celebrities, journalists and dignitaries have drived the best current and future low emission vehicles between iconic locations - with a green motoring & lifestyle exhibition at the finish line. In the Eco-Rally has participated some famous people involved in the world of cinema or television.
One convoy has travelled ~70 miles from the centre of Oxford to the centre of London via the BRE Innovation Park - featuring 10 of the world's most sustainable houses. Another convoy of zero emission urban vehicles started from the legendary Ace Cafe. The parades has culminated along The Mall to join all-day sustainable transport show between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.
