Description:

The smash hit band Deadbeat Darling from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York has been recording a new album at Monnow Valley studios with Grammy Award winner Ken Nelson and were able to fit in a performance at the Blestium Street car park home to the Monmouth Festival 2011. Having had the crowd warmed up by the well known Bigtopp band, Deadbeat Darling were able to build on that and provided a fantastic set of songs played with great raw energy that was incredible to watch.
It is clear that this band has a great future not just in the United States but in the United Kingdom and Europe as well.
They are signed to Spearhavoc Records (UK) and return to the United States shortly to tour around the states and their new album should be released early in 2012. The band members are Joseph King who plays guitar and does lead vocals, Mohit Bhansal who plays lead guitar and backing vocals, Evan Howard the master timekeeper on drums, percussion and Ian Everall, who is the bass player. Joseph King was formerly front man for Canvas who broke up in 2005, At this point Joseph King formed a band with Alex Wong on drums and Sanjay Jain on bass, known as the Joseph King Trio. Mohit Bhansali joined the band in 2007. The band name "Deadbeat Darling" is a lyric from the song "Lover Says it's Late", a song King wrote in 2005.
In September 2009 Alex Wong the original drummer left the band to be replaced by Evan Howard.
The music tonight was nothing short of brilliant and judging by the reaction and appreciation of the audience to their new material they will be a name to watch climbing up record charts and performing at sell out venues on both sides of the Atlantic. There is nothing "deadbeat" about the sheer raw energy and passion these guys have for their music. Watch out for the new album which will be out in a couple of months, a definite must buy!
