"Sunfeast World 10K Bangalore Marathon 2009" was held in Bangalore city on 31st May 2009. Apart from the Men's and Women's categories, the event also saw participation from citizens and NGOs in the open categories. Among the winners the top honors were taken by Ethiopian athletes. Ethiopia’s Deriba Merga won the men's event while his compatriot Azelefech Mergia won the women's event.
