ATN News chief executive officer Ashfaque Munier Mishuk who was killed in a road accident on August 13 was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard Tuesday afternoon.
Mishuk was buried around 1:55pm after his third namaz-e-janaza on the Banani graveyard ground attended by relatives including his brother Ahmed Munier Bhashan, friends, colleagues and well-wishers.
Ahmed Munier arrived in the capital Tuesday morning from United States to attend the burial.
His body was kept in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) mortuary after his first and second namaz-e-janazas at Dhaka University Central Mosque and on Zahir Raihan Laboratory premises of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) respectively on Sunday for his brother.
The Central Shaheed Minar premises turned into a grieving ground on Sunday with hundreds of mourners pouring into pay their last respects to Munier Mishuk and Tareque Masud.
Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Tareque Masud, Mishuk, film production crew Wasim and Jamal, and microbus driver Mostafizur Rahman died on Saturday when a Chuadanga-bound bus collided head-on with their microbus on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Ghior in Manikganj.
Tareque's wife Catherine Masud, painter Dhali Al Mamun, his wife Dilara Zaman Jolly and film production staff Saidul Islam sustained injuries in the accident.
Catherine and Jolly were discharged from capital's Square Hospital while Mamun has been undergoing treatment at the hospital and his condition is stated to be critical.
Tareque's body will be kept at the BSMMU mortuary until Catherine makes a decision about his burial, family members said earlier.
A reputed cinematographer, Mishuk is the son of Munier Chowdhury, a 1971 martyred intellectual. He taught broadcast journalism at Dhaka University and worked with Canada-based TV channel The Real News.
