Description:

It is believed that the Monmouth Festival is one of the longest running free festivals in Europe. It runs from Friday 29th July to Saturday 6th August. The festival is supported entirely by advertising sponsorship and by "bucket babes" who go out and collect donations from the crowd. This attracts visitors from all over the UK and often tourists who are passing through the Wye Valley come and enjoy the evenings which are a wonderful mixture of fun and music. Entertainment at its best.
The stage is set up in the car park in Blestium Street and a number of other performances take place in the Green Dragon Pub as well as the venue of St Mary Church, Monmouth. In essence something for everyone!
Day 4 of the Festival had Screaming Tiger, a smash alternative Rock band fronted by the energetic and talented Hannah Modget, Percussion by Gaz Modget, Guitar by Oli Montez and Guitar by Matt Modget.
Formed in 2011 Hannah was singer with Thyrd Eye and has teamed up with Oli Montex on guitar who was formerly with Aulos to combine their talents to produce a exciting female vocalist with raw smash music. The crowd at Monmouth danced to the music with some gusto. Songs such as, "Scream", "From Hell", "Cello", "Follow The Waves", "Get Away", "Lore", ending with "Release the Kraken" their first track on general release were played with a raw passion that needed to be seen and heard. The Monmouth Festival audience were very enthusiastic in their response to this new band. The music was different to the genre we have come to know from Hannah in the past. It is certainly a band that will continue to attract many new fans most of whom intend seeing them at Magnums, Coleford on Friday 30th September.
