Havana, Cuba 1 of June. - Human rights activists in Cuba, the group that has members known as ex prisoners bring back consciousness. Jorge Luis Garcia Perez “Antúnez”, and Nestor Rodriguez Lobaina, carried out a vigil in Havana, in solidarity with Aung San Suu Kyí, the leader of National League for Democracy (NLD), who faces a fixed judgement, by the Military junta of Burma.

The vigil was in Old Havana. Iris Perez from the Feminist Movement for Civil Rights. Also in attendance was Blas Fortun Martinez and Ernesto Arosarena from the organization Presidio Politico. They joined Antunez in a hunger strike of 29 days and later in a prolonged fasting in Placetas, the center of the island's revolt against the Castro regime.

'Freedom for Aung San Suu Kyí!' were one of the things the group shouted to demonstrate their solidarity to San Suu Kyí.

'From Cuba we want to show our solidarity and unconditional support for Aung San Suu Kyi,' said Jorge Luis Garcia Perez Antunez, coordinator for Nacional del Presidio Politico.

The event was part of the solidarity project in which Cubans show their support for victims of oppressive regimes around the world.
