iPhone portraits of Demotix photographers that Turi Munthe, founder of Demotix, and I met at Perpignan's annual photojournalism festival. It was wonderful to put faces to superb photography and to receive feedback. Perpignan, France. Aug/Sept 2011

Turi Munthe, CEO and founder of Demotix, and myself have just returned from a very exciting and enlightening week in Perpignan – VISA pour l’Image photojournalism festival. It’s hard not to feel humbled by the quality of photography there and the stories told there but also to be immersed in a group of such great story-tellers through pictures.

It was absolutely wonderful to meet so many Demotix photographers there too, and to put a face to superb photography! Not only is it useful for us to receive feedback in how to improve our photographers experience, but to spend a proper amount of time with members of the Demotix community was a true pleasure.

It also allowed us to meet new photographers and add fantastically talented photojournalists to our every-expanding network.

If I met you there and didn't take your picture, please do send me a self-portrait of yourself with the VISA badge so I can add it to this piece! Jordi, Grzegorz...

Sorry Vlad - not the best picture of you - you're much better looking! :) But after a few glasses of wine and the excitement of the first evening screenings, i was a little shaky!
