Members and supporters of PeTA strip off to protest the use of bearskins by Britain's defence ministry. The groups claims that it takes one bear to make a Guardman's bearskin helmet. London, UK. 06/06
The animal rights group PeTA has held a naked protest close to St Paul's Cathedral in London to demand the MOD stops using bearskins for its guards' regiments.
The group called People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says it takes one bear to equip a guardsman with their famous headwear.
They stripped off their clothes and donned plastic bear masks and covered their bodies in red paint.
It is one week until the Queen's annual birthday celebrations in which Guards' regiments play an important ceremonial role.
PeTA believes that they still can but without the help of the bears and their skins.
