Air Force Commemoration Day was held to remember the 70th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps and the 71st anniversary of the Battle of Britain. New Zealand. 18th September 2011

Sunday was the the 70th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps and the 71th Birthday of the Battle of Britain.
New Zealand played a crucial role in the battle particularly with Sir Keith Park who was in tactical command during the Battle of Britain. In Germany, he was known as "the Defender of London".
Ninety-eight pilots from New Zealand fought in the Battle of Britain in 1940.
