As battles continue to rage in Sana'a, thousands of supporters converged upon Seventieth Street in the nation's capital to pray and revel in the return of long-absent Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh. Sana'a, Yemen. 23rd September 2011

Even as heavy fire continues to resound in Yemen's capital and amid reports of the continued firing of live ammunition at unarmed protesters by government security forces, thousands turned up on Seventieth Street for the Friday prayer and to celebrate the return of long-absent president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
