Love in the Age of Bin Laden
Love in the Age of Bin Laden
As bombs go off all over Pakistan the brave Ajoka Theater Company's play, "Burqvaganza" satirizes the veil (burqa) and its misuse in Pakistan.
This musical extravaganza is a love story in the time of jihad with the young couple wanting to spend time together but are interrupted by the burqa brigade and the morality police. It is a world in which lovers are persecuted and terrorists are worshiped.
This play is part of an extraordinary season of 30 plays in as many days - part of the National Drama Festival in Islamabad held at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
