Street vendors protest against fiscalization - Sao Paulo
During the night street vendors protested in the neighborhood of Bras against a new law operation from the Sao Paulo Prefecture that requires all vendors have the proper documentation to trade. Sao Paulo, Brazil. 25th October 2011.
During the night (24), street vendors protested in the neighborhood of Bras against fiscalization operation of the Sao Paulo Prefecture. Sao Paulo, Brazil. 25th October 2011.
Earlier this morning (25) the situation was tense in the neighborhood of Bras. The Shock Troops (Tropa de Choque) of the Military Police was positioned.
Those street vendors does not have permission to trade on public places, have to negotiate with the Prefecture to come within the legislation that deals with that.
Street vendors continued protesting near the famous Feirinha da Madrugada (Morning Fair).
The Feirinha da Madrugada was closed for three weeks in August during an inspection of the Prefecture of Sao Paulo against piracy and illegal trade, the "fair" was reopened at the end of August.
During this time, many of the "fair" vendors were selling their products on the street.
