FEMEN’s topless activists, wearing masks representing slaughtered animals, demonstrate at the entrance to Kiev’s ZooPark and declared it to be a ‘ZooMorgue’, due to alleged high numbers of animal deaths. Kiev, Ukraine. 27th October 2011

Today FEMEN’s topless activists, wearing masks representing the slaughtered animals, penetrated the entrance to Kiev’s ‘ZooPark’. By hanging a large banner across the building, the activists declared it to be a ‘ZooMorgue’. FEMEN are confident that this new name better reflects the ideology and operation of the capital’s zoo.

Over the last ten years, the corrupt management has continued to eat away at the lives of these helpless animals. Every year this slaughter house is claiming the lives of hundreds of rare and exotic animals, that die a horrific death of hunger, cold, disease and intolerable living conditions. The management of the Kiev Zoo are scum, who steal from each other the last of the living animals to sell, and keep this money for personal gain.

The FEMEN movement demands that the Ukrainian authorities close the Kiev’s ZooMorgue and that it’s last living inhabitants are rescued and given safer homes in other Ukrainian and international zoo parks. FEMEN calls for the empty cages of Kiev ZooPark to be filled with a world exclusive exhibit of the bipedal monsters guilty of committing this zoo catastrophe.
