Oakland's Occupy movement organize a march and rally in front of city hall. This comes after the crack down on the Occupy camp by police left Scott Olsen, a former Marine, in the hospital in critical condition. 29th October 2011

Thousands from Oakland attended a rally in front of Oakland's city hall against police brutality organized by Occupy Oakland. The rally started at 6pm and featured many speakers who have lost loved ones in police altercations, as well Occupy Oakland protesters who were wounded in the October 25th police clash. At 8pm a planned march left Frank . Ogawa Plaza headed down the main avenue of Oakland's city center .
Tension between Occupy Oakland protesters and the police was evident during the march when the police cordoned off the march route and blocked off the streets .
Several heated exchanges took place between protesters who were "Peace Makers " and others who were more militant and advocated rushing police lines. Protesters chanted "We are all Scott Olsen" and "Oakland is Greece" - Greece is Oakland "
Oakland police came to the march out fitted in helmets , gas masks, shoot guns and other armament. The marchers changed their direction several times finally the police did not follow. Oakland police appeared to have pulled back.The march continued until the protesters returned to the Occupy Oakland camp later in the evening.
