Around an estimated 100,000 people joined in a protest in front of the Parliament building as part of a global day of demonstrations against corporate greed and corruption. Portugal.15th October 2011

There was a manifestation at October 15th, regarding de debt crisis and austerity measures some countries imposed, wich spread worlwide, Lisbon, in Portugal, was no exception.

The manifesters reached the total number of 100.000 in Lisbon, and came down Liberty Avenue to protest in front of the Parliament. For the most part there was a sense of order but when of the participants felt hill and passed out police had to get him inside the barricade mounted in front of the building, wich lead to the invasion of the Parliament's stairway.

There was no violence or riots. But the tensions got exceptionally high and somewhere along the way the manifesting people broke the police line and invaded the Parliament’s stairs. In fact, the police had to call the Riot control squad.
