Activists of Pasban staged a protest demonstration for the release of Dr. Aafia. They were also sending Eid greetings to her by saying “Afia in Prison 19th Eid, Mubarak to politicians” along with her pictures on the banner in front Karachi press club here on Wednesday dated 9th November, 2011.
The protestors were carrying banners inscribed with different slogans for release of Aafia Siddiqui and against the Pakistani politicians. They were also sending Eid greetings to her by saying “Afia in Prison 19th Eid Mubarak to politicians” along with her pictures. Speakers urged the government to take concrete steps for the release and arrival of Dr Aafia Siddiqui to Pakistan from American jail immediately.
They said that US leadership was not representing the sentiments of their nation regarding imprisonment of Dr Afia. They condemned her illegal custody adding that no charge against her was proved by the court. They insisted that the government of Pakistan should fulfill its promise of bringing Aafia back as she was spending 19th Eid in an American jail.
