VALPARAISO .- The diturbios that followed the march took place in Valparaiso on Wednesday as part of a new day of action for education, leaving 20 prisoners and three policemen injured, and damage to private and public furniture.
The demonstration, which according to police gathered eight thousand people, mostly spent in a peaceful manner by plotting authorized by the City of Valparaiso. With placards the demonstrators shouted slogans in favor of the student movement, while from the adjacent buildings were throwing paper and balloons.
Upon completion of the protest, a group of protesters tried to march on to Congress in unauthorized travel. At that moment, a group of hooded men threw stones and paint at police who repelled attacks lanzaaguas cars and tear gas.
In this context, the police had to suspend a cultural event to be held at Pedro Montt and Plaza Italia.
While acknowledging that there were fewer incidents in the past, the mayor of Valparaiso, Raul Celis, condemned the riots generated in another day of marches for education.
"Just cause damage, do not produce anything positive, except for damage to persons, damage to public and private property, and a level of destruction in this case is a heritage city like Valparaiso. I hope that does not return to Valparaiso to host these vandalism that hurt only help the city, "he said.
Celis said that "we had less damage at this time that on previous occasions, but it was because the universities of Brazil Avenue closed their doors as we had requested the bodies".
Nevertheless, the highest regional authority criticized the school of Psychology at the University of Valparaíso remained open, since the roof of that establishment some wearing hoods threw stones at police.
