Dear Theo, thanks for sharing your photos. But please stop the dezinformation. The Independence March was organized by right wing parties and organizations, not fascists. Fascism is a left wing ideology (National Socialism). Nationalism is not equal with Fascism, much more the Patriotism is not either. The culture and economic assumptions of the Third Reich were very left and, paradoxically, the German political system in 1930's was very close to Soviet Communism (especialy the economic principles). The Independence March was a patriotic event. Most of the people who came were not nationalists nor hooligans. People came even with small children. The problem is that some radical nationalists and soccer hooligans joined also the gathering and they started the fight with the police. The gathering you attended was organized just to block the way of legally registred march. I'm not sure if you know that socialist and homosexual organization who organized the blocking gathering invited some radical left wing activists from Germany (about 100 people). They attacked and beaten innocent people peacefuly walking with national flags at Nowy Swiat street. They were taken by the police, eventually. I would be more eager to call THEM fascists.
