Luisa Maria Calderon fights close race in Michoacan Election
Luisa Maria Calderon, sister of President Felipe Calderon, was fighting in a close race in gubernatorial elections to become new governor of the state of Michoacan, with her party claiming unconfirmed victory. Morelia, Mexico. 13th November 2011
Luisa Maria Calderon, so called Cocoa for the color of her skin, was proclaimed the new governor of Michoacan on having assured that she gained the votings realized this Sunday in this State.
The inhabitants of Michoacan chose his new governor, besides 113 mayors and 40 local Congressmembers. They will remain all of them in their charges for 3 years, 7 months and 15 days.
The votings in Michoacan were very attractive for the national means because Luisa Maria Calderon, candidata to the gubernatura for the Party National Action (PAN) and New Alliance, is the major sister of the current president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon.
